Relief Society Card Making Group April 2009
Birthday Card Making
The card above is one of the design choices for Birthday card. Sorry, I don't know why I did not take the picture of the other design.
Materials:
Materials:
- 1 - 5.5" x 8.5" Yellow texture card stock
- 1 - 5.5" x 3.0" Green polka dot color paper
- 1 - 2.0" x 2.0" Yellow texture card stock
- 1 - 1.5" x 1.5" Cake picture
- 1 - Star brad
- 1 Small doubled sided foam
Tools:
- Glue Stick
- Embossing tool
- Happy Birthday brass embossing template
- Light table
- Wide scallop cutter
- Straight paper cutter
- Hole puncher
- Fine sanding block
Malinda had all the materials and tools we need neatly lay on her huge long table.
Instructions: - We begin first by gluing the green polka dots paper on the yellow texture base card.
- Then glue the blue square line strip paper across the green polka dot paper.
- Next we take the cake picture and glue it on the a small yellow square.
- Then finished the cake picture with a star brad on candle.
- Next we embossed "Happy Birthday" on the yellow card by placing the brass embossing template underneath the yellow card.
- Then place the yellow card and embossing template on top of the lighting table and emboss with the embossing tool. Note: don't not press too soft or to hard with your embossing tool.
- Now we used the fine sanding block and sand on the right side of the embossed "Happy Birthday" lettering.
- The final step is to stick the emblished cake picture on the card with the small double sided foam.
Specially For You Card
Papers
- 5.5" x 8.5" Pink card stock
- 2 1/4” x 3 1/8” Pink-yellow small square pattern paper
- 1.0" Wide light green tissue paper
- Iris flower and butterfly stickers
Supplies
- Glue Stick
- Dark pink marker
- Scissors
- Clear glue iridescent glitter
Directions
- Make pink card base and score the card to fold in half.
- Then stick light green tissue around the pink-yellow small square pattern paper top's edge wrong side leaving 3/8” tissue's top from the right side unglued.
- When the glue is dried use scissors to cut straight cut on the unglued light green tissue paper to make fringes. Then fashion the fringes with your finger by running through from left to right motion movement.
- Now apply glue on the pink-yellow small square pattern paper wrong side and position it one inch away from the pink card's top and sides edges to form a pink border.
- Place iris flowers sticker at the lower left hand corner leaving 1/4" away from the pink card edge.
- Next place the butterfly on the pink yellow small square pattern paper's top right edge corner flying toward the top right pink card corner.
- Write the word “Specially For You” in the across the pink yellow small square pattern paper with dark pink marker.
- Finally put clear iridescent glue glitter on the inner top and bottom wings and let the wing dries.
Flower Card

Ingredients:
Pink 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 card
Lace scissorsGrey ink stampStamp "everywhere you go.....love blooms!

White vinyl cut with Storybook cartridge on swirl/accent

Directions:
Cut corners of card with lace scissors. Cut white vinyl with storybook cartridge on circut machine using the swirl on accent/frame application. After vinyl is cut remove and put on card. Stamp withgrey ink greeting at the bottom of card. Attach flower with silver brad in the middle of the vinyl.
Hello Card
Papers
- 5.5” x 8.5” Green card stock
- 3.0” x 4.0” Light pink tissue
- 2.5” Tall fairy
Supplies
- Glue Stick
- Scissors
- Markers - Green, Lavender, Pale orange.
- 0/10 Detail brush
- Paint Palette
- Green iridescent paint
Assembly
- First make the green card as base and score the card to fold in half.
Next squash pink tissue to wrinkle effect and slowly spread the tissue flat. - Then apply glue on the pink tissue wrong side and position it symmetrically on the green card.
- Next use the scissors and cut a 2.5" tall fairy.
- Then apply glue on the fairy wrong side and position it on the green card’s lower half.
- Next use the green marker and draw a rectangular border on the tissue.
- Then use lavender marker and write “Hello” on the pink tissue and use pale orange marker as the alphabets' shadow.
Finally, put some paint iridescent paint on palette and use the brush to paint the green areas on the fairy's wing and let the wings dry. And don't forget to wash your brush immediately.
